What this is
Swish News is an independent basketball wire for the NBA, WNBA and NCAA Division I men's and women's basketball: transactions, official injury reports, final scores, league and team news, and recruiting signings.
How it's made
Items are gathered and written by an automated pipeline, then checked through agent and human peer review before and after publishing. Only official or primary-source items are labelled Confirmed: the leagues' official injury reports, official league, team, conference and school accounts, NCAA.org, and final scores from the balldontlie API (or a team's or league's own official "Final" post when the API has no result). Insider reports are labelled Reported after review and switch to Confirmed once the team or league posts it. Commitment posts, X News stories and other unofficial posts are labelled Unconfirmed and are only published after review.

- Official NBA injury report PDFs (official.nba.com / ak-static.cms.nba.com) and WNBA injury report PDFs, quoted as filed: Confirmed.
- Official X accounts of the NBA, NBA Communications, WNBA, WNBA Communications, NCAA, March Madness, every NBA and WNBA team, conferences, and business-verified NCAA D1 basketball program accounts: Confirmed. The unofficial @WNBAPR account is blocklisted.
- NCAA.org posts about basketball: Confirmed.
- Final scores: NBA and WNBA from the balldontlie API; NCAA D1 and any game the API is missing from the team's or league's own official "Final" post. No live scores.
- Insider reports (for example ESPN's Shams Charania): reviewed, then labelled Reported; they switch to Confirmed once the team or league posts it.
- Player commitment posts, X News stories (Grok summaries of posts, used only as an early signal) and other unofficial posts: reviewed first and labelled Unconfirmed.
- We never scrape sites whose robots.txt or terms block AI agents (including nba.com, wnba.com, ncaa.com, ESPN, On3, Rivals, Her Hoop Stats and Basketball-Reference), and we don't use Reddit or YouTube.
